Play On!!

The very first pen in this series (may ganun) was the orange one. As i was strolling around the school supplies section, specifically the PENS area (which i usually do), of SM Centerpoint, this bright orange thing caught my eye. And behold, the orange pen, it was like talking to me, soflty saying, "Buy me. Buy me now, please?". I checked its price, OH MY! I quickly grabbed one and headed straight to the cashier.
I should tell you, may ganung factor talaga. Like you can't resist that soft call, it's like pulling you to it. No joke, i always feel that whenever i go shopping (and not, even) for pens. haha
So the pen(s) i am going to introduce to you are from Dong-A's line of quality pens. As we (Pao and I and some other friends) were shopping at Best Sellers (The Podium) I saw that they were also selling a complete set of this type of brand. Too bad for me, i had to hunt them down, one by one. HAHA, i'm still missing a few colors and hopefully be able to complete the set. :) So, without further ado...
Some info:
  • Pen name: Playon Color (Dong-A)
  • Ink color: A set of colors
  • Where to buy: Your favorite school supplies shop or bookstore
  • Price: PhP 19.75 (see why i hurriedly paid for this?)
What I liked about this pen:
  • At first, i thought this was just an ordinary pen with a single tip. but, when i got home, i realized that both ends of the pen had, uh, tips! haha, one was for fine writing and the other was felt-tipped. Comparing the pen features to it's price, i must say it's worth it! you get two for a price of one! what i also like about this pen is that it makes my handwriting look even better writes so smoothly. :)
What I don't like about this pen:
  • what's there to hate about this pen? o, yeah, there's one. The pen cover. after a time of usage, the cover seems to be loose and does not stay on the other end (where we usually put pen covers when we write). you may just be extra careful with the cover when that happens. i almost lost one.

O HAI! i'm Kux! :)

I'm Pao's friend and like her, i'm also a pen enthusiast. I'll be doing some contributions to this blog and do reviews on some COOL pens that i own. haha.
I have been into PENS since, i think i was in grade school. Unlike Pao (who had the most intricate pencil case) I had this small batik bag (same size as a lunchbox) that contained ALL the writing materials i owned. imagine, a BAG FULL of pens, crayons, colored pencils, markers, highlighters, pencils, erasers... everything I owned that writes and was connected to writing was crammed into that little bag. carrying that little bag everyday to school seemed satisfactory. like a comfort object.
i dunno, but back then when everyone hated to write, i loved writing - which is actually up until now. i loved to write in colors. i loved seeing different colors in my notebook. i still do, actually.
so there, enough of me and let's get going!
hope you enjoy our posts! :)

Minikaniko ni Moniko ang makina ng minika ni Monika

Oh wow, typing that title was a delight for my fingers. Try it! :) How did you spend your weekend? I spent mine visiting churches with my family and a few visitors. Yeah, churches. It's the Holy Week here and we had a really long weekend (Thursday - Sunday). I really missed being with my family at Los Banos, I even cried (just a tinny tiny bit) the night before going back to Manila. Yeah, yeah, I'm a crybaby. :)

Oh, by the way, Happy Easter everyone! :) Did you get to hunt eggs or did you snatch them away from those cute Easter bunnies? Well, if you didn't get an egg or a bunny, our featured pen for today is just as cute as Easter eggs and bunnies!

Some pen info:
  • Pen name: Toothpaste Pen
  • Ink color: Blue only.
  • Where to buy: Pencil Case kiosk at Edsa Shangri-La
  • Price: PhP 49
What I liked about this pen:
  • The way you take the pen cap off. The pen is packaged as a toothpaste tube and boy, you wouldn't doubt that this is a real toothpaste tube! To take the pen cap off, you unscrew the tube cover - like a real toothpaste tube cap!
  • Uber cute Hello Kitty body casing.
What I don't like about this pen:
  • It's not refillable.
  • It only comes in blue ink. Now, I don't have anything against blue (it's actually my favorite color), but I like black ink more than blue ink.
  • It's expensive for a simple, non-refillable, rollerball pen.

Ok, about the "Minikaniko ni Moniko ang makina ng minika ni Monika", the line that I used for test writing. This is another Tagalog tongue twister. For non-Tagalog speakers, it's "Moniko is fixing the engine of Monika's Minika (a small model Honda from the 1970's)" in English. You pronounce it this way:
minikaniko: me-knee-kah-knee-koh
ni: knee
moniko: Moh-knee-koh
ang: ahng
makina: mah-kee-nah
ng: nang
minika: me-knee-kah
ni: knee
monika: moh-knee-kah
Got it? :)
